It’s the meal you need for hot days
If there is a salad that has stolen our hearts and managed to highlight the art of simplicity, it is undoubtedly the Caesar Salad. This recipe has become one of our favorite dishes, and for good reason: the combined taste of tender chicken, crispy bacon and delicious salad dressing is simply irresistible.
A timeless, classic choice
The history of Caesar Salad takes us back to 1920’s America, when the Italian chef Caesar Cardini, living in Mexico, decided to create a unique dish for his customers. His recipe, simple and clever, was a success from the first moment and thus the Caesar Salad became a global phenomenon.
While the traditional recipe doesn’t always involve chicken and bacon, we’ve come to love this modern version that adds an extra flavor to the classic dish. Get ready to discover why this salad will become your new favorite!
The Materials We Want
To prepare a delicious Caesar Salad we need:
For the salad:
-1 large chicken (or 2 chicken breasts, if you prefer)
-6 slices of bacon
– Some cherry tomatoes
-1/2 lettuce, cleaned and cut into pieces
-1/2 cup grated parmesan
-1/2 cup croutons (you can make them yourself or buy them ready-made)
For the Caesar dressing:
-1/2 cup mayonnaise
-2 tablespoons of lemon juice
-2 cloves of garlic, melted
-2 tablespoons of grated parmesan
-1 tablespoon of sauce
-1 teaspoon of mustard
-Salt and pepper (if desired)
Implementation:
Prepare the chicken: In a pot, boil the chicken in salted water for 15-20 minutes or until fully cooked. Let it cool and then cut it into pieces or strips. Alternatively, you can bake it in the oven or fry it with breading.
Make the bacon: In a pan, fry the bacon slices until crispy. Remove the bacon from the pan and place on paper towels to absorb excess fat. Next, cut the bacon into small pieces.
Prepare the Caesar dressing: In a bowl, mix the mayonnaise, lemon juice, melted garlic, grated parmesan, sauce and mustard. Whisk well until all ingredients are combined and add salt and pepper if desired.
Salad: In a large bowl, toss the lettuce with the arugula, chicken pieces and bacon. Add the Caesar dressing and mix well to combine all the ingredients with the dressing. Add the croutons and grated parmesan on top, and mix lightly.
