International arrest warrants had been issued for the two separate cases
ELAS proceeded with two arrests of persons wanted on European and international arrest warrants for drug trafficking and complicity in murder.
In particular, on Thursday morning, a 28-year-old foreigner was arrested in Athens by the Athens Security Police, against whom an international arrest warrant was pending from the Iranian authorities for complicity in homicide.
In particular, against the arrested person, a court decision is pending from the Iranian authorities with a prison sentence of 16 years, as we joined another perpetrator in a case of homicide committed in Iran. The arrested person was taken to the competent prosecutor.
In addition, on Friday morning, a 27-year-old foreigner was arrested by police officers of the Security Department of the Athens Airport Police Directorate, who was being prosecuted with a European arrest warrant by the Swedish authorities for trafficking in narcotics, weapons and explosives.
According to ELAS, the 27-year-old is accused of having trafficked quantities of narcotics and two weapons in Sweden in the years 2022 and 2023, together with other accomplices.
The arrested person was taken to the competent prosecutor.
