After seven months of investigations into the financial management of the social kitchen “The Other Man”, the Athens Prosecutor’s Office concluded criminal prosecution for the founder and initiator of the project Konstantinos Polychronopoulos and two more, his relatives.

From the investigation, according to information, evidence has emerged that advocates in favor of criminal prosecution for the offenses of criminal organization and money launderingin the sense of violations in the management of sums of money that were donations to support the feeding of our needy fellow citizens.

The prosecution concerns Polychronopoulos himself, his mother and son-in-law, who during the prosecution contributed to the appropriation of various sums of money.

From the investigation, according to information, it emerged that various amounts of donations for the social kitchen, which had indeed provided important work to our fellow human beings in need, were channeled to the personal relatives of Polychronopoulos. The amount of this money is estimated at 600 thousand euros over a period of approximately three years from 2020 to 2023.

The founder of the social kitchen, however, from the first moment his name was involved in the investigations into the management of sponsorships and donations for his activity, denies that he has committed any criminal act and claims that all the money from the donations was allocated to the social kitchen for the feeding of our needy fellow human beings and that he himself never appropriated even a single euro.
