The installation of a total of 45 sprinklers, offered by a private company, will be completed in all Municipalities in the next period of time.
Drinking fountains for stray and controlled pets were installed in New Paralia, from the height of the White Tower to the Concert Hall, as part of the actions taken by the Municipality of Thessaloniki to care for animals. The installation of a total of 45 sprinklers, which were offered by a private company, will be completed in the next period of time in all the Municipal Communities.
In his statements, the mayor of Thessaloniki, Stelios Angeloudis, pointed out the need to relieve stray animals from the prolonged high temperatures and announced that the next step of the municipality is the creation, in the coming months, of an organized municipal Veterinary Clinic, which will be adequately staffed and meets the needs of citizens.
For his part, the mandated advisor responsible for stray animal issues, Spyros Tzelepis, said that the municipality’s actions will continue, being part of a wider plan and in collaboration with the city’s active volunteers.
