From tomorrow Sunday at 7.30 in the morning traffic is prohibited in the Periastiko Dasos Thessaloniki, in the forest areas of Oreokastro, Thermi and the Panorama Forestry, due to the high risk of forest fire. A related decision was issued by the deputy governor of Thessaloniki, Kostas Youtikas, while the ban will be in force until Monday at 7.30 in the morning.

In particular, the traffic of pedestrians and all types of vehicles is prohibited in the part of the Peri-urban Forest of Thessaloniki (Sheikh Sou), which is surrounded by the Peripheral Road of Thessaloniki, the provincial road Pefkon – Asvestochoriou – Exokhis and the provincial road Thessaloniki – Panorama – Hortiati, in the forest area of ​​Oreokastro (Oreiokastro Forest Park), in the Panorama Forest Park and in the forest area of ​​Thermi (near the Environmental Park and the Isenli Forest Park).

For the implementation of the measure, the Vice-region of Thessaloniki accepts the planning of the Administration of the Fire Service of Thessaloniki, with regard to the checkpoints and entry bans. At the same time, the voluntary organizations that participate in the planning and actions for the surveillance of the forests of Thessaloniki, are asked to be on increased alertness by intensifying their patrols in their areas of responsibility.
