Citizens now have access through the Gov.gr Wallet to information regarding their pets
Data from the National Pet Registry, pet.gov.gr, are available through the Gov.gr Wallet from today, as stated in a joint announcement by the Ministries of Digital Governance, Interior and National Economy and Finance. As part of the collaboration between the Ministers of the Interior, Thodoris Livaniou and of Digital Governance, Dimitris Papastergiou, and following the Joint Ministerial Decision co-signed by the Deputy Ministers of the National Economy and Finance, Athanasios Petralias and of the Interior, Vassilis Spanakis, citizens now have access through the Gov.gr Wallet in information concerning the companion animals of their property.
In particular, the data stored in the new Gov.gr Wallet document are the following:
- Name of pet
- Photo
- Marking code (microchip)
- Sex
- Kind
- Sterilization indicator (yes/no)
- Indication of rabies vaccination (yes/no)
- Effective date of vaccination
- Pet of special category
- Indication for sending genetic material (DNA) (yes/no)
- Date of deworming for endoparasites and for ectoparasites.
In this way, the owners will have at their disposal at any time the expiry date of their animal’s vaccination, but also the number of the marking code (microchip) which can facilitate the process of finding it, in case of loss.
The specific data in National Pet Registry are registered and can be changed exclusively by registered veterinarians.
Citizens can install the Gov.gr Wallet application directly on their mobile phone through the App Store or Google Play, as well as through wallet.gov.gr.
The details of pets are the tenth document included in the Gov.gr Wallet. It is reminded that the following documents are already available: the Police Identity Card, the Driving License, the Digital Disability Card, the Digital Unemployment Card (DYPA), the Ring Badge for free access to the Athens ring, the vehicle details (MyAuto), the Academic ID, Insurance Capacity and Speed ​​Boat Operator’s License.
To date, 4,026,645 citizens have installed the Gov.gr Wallet application on their mobile phones. 2,955,818 Police Identity Cards, 2,334,906 Driving Licenses, 50,155 Digital Disability Cards, 154,838 Digital Unemployment Cards, 57,733 Ring Cards, 860,801 Vehicle Details, 56,071 Academy IDs have been issued and stored in the digital wallet Aikes IDs, 69,205 Insurance Qualifications and 12,486 Operator’s Licenses Speedboat.
The design and development of the service was done by the General Secretariat of Information Systems and Digital Governance and the National Network of Technology and Research Infrastructures (EDYTE SA – GRNET) of the Ministry of Digital Governance. The data of the National Register of Companion Animals is obtained through the Interoperability Center of the General Secretariat of Information Systems and Digital Government.
