One business was locked and another was fined by AADE inspectors on Monday night in Chania, after an inspection they carried out at a concert venue.

Specifically, according to ERT, the auditors of AADE found the non-issuance of a large number of receipts for retail transactions in businesses that served the large event venue, which was held on Monday, August 5 in the center of the city of Chania.

This resulted in the services of AADE, applying the suspension measure, based on the provisions of article 13A of Law 2523/1997, to seal one of them for 48 hours and to impose a special monetary penalty on another.

Audits continue, with the aim of business compliance, to ensure public revenues.

The competent services remind taxpayers that, in the context of tax justice, they must demand the issuance of a receipt for each of their purchases and that they have the right not to pay the price, when they do not receive a receipt from the company’s cash system (Tax Electronic Mechanism or Electronic Document Release Service Provider).

It is also clarified that proof of the bank’s POS is not enough, in case of payment by card.
