Police officers located a total of 24 cannabis plantations, uprooted 1730 seedlings, seized 1,180 grams of cannabis and arrested three people during police operations in Crete, which were carried out from August 3 to 6, with the assistance of the Air Service Media of the Hellenic Police, the Special Suppression Anti-Terrorist Unit of Crete, special Security departments and other police services of the Chania, Rethymnon, Heraklion and Lasithi Police Departments.

The extensive operation was completed and was, according to the police, part of the actions and actions of the General Regional Police Directorate of Crete as well as the implementation of the special plan it is preparing in this field.

More specifically, during the police operation carried out on Monday (05.08.2024) by Heraklion Security Police officers in the wider area of ​​the Heraklion regional unit, a total of 5 plantations consisting of a total of 248 cannabis seedlings, up to 5 meters high, were identified, which were uprooted and were confiscated.

In addition, on Tuesday (06.08.2024) an operation was carried out in the area of ​​the municipality of Agios Nikolaos by policemen of the Security sub-directorate of Agios Nikolaos with the assistance of special services of the Police Directorate of Lasithi, a total of two plantations consisting of 21 cannabis seedlings, up to 2 meters in height, were identified. which were uprooted and confiscated.

The preliminary investigative work of the above cases is carried out by the local Narcotics Prosecution departments of the Security Directorates of Chania, Rethymno and Heraklion and the Security Sub-Directorate of Agios Nikolaos.
