A deputy firefighter, a former and active police officer and two private individuals are involved in a drug trafficking case investigated by the Internal Affairs Service of the Security Forces of Northern Greece.

In particular, in the context of the investigation carried out, it emerged that the former firefighter and the former police officer had joined forces, at least a month ago, with the aim of trafficking narcotics and obtaining illegal financial gain. In order to achieve their goal, the former fire chief would deliver cocaine and raw cannabis supplied by the ex-policeman to prospective clients during their private meetings, receiving sums of money ranging from 50 to 500 euros.

In fact, in order for his action not to be noticed, he made sure to use coded symbolic words for the narcotics, such as “pants” or “thing”. From the preliminary investigation it emerged that they are involved in at least 3 cases of drug trafficking, in one of which the buyer-customer was the active police officer.

In a police operation that took place on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, the deputy firefighter and the former policeman were located outside a beach shop in Halkidiki where they were immobilized.

From the search carried out in the former policeman’s car, 41.55 grams of cocaine and the sum of 350 euros were found and confiscated, while from the possession of the deputy firefighter, 1.87 grams of cocaine, which he had previously obtained from the former policeman, were confiscated.

Then, the other people involved in the case were identified, while from the house searches small amounts of cocaine and cannabis, a precision scale, a flash grenade, 3 pepper sprays, 4 mobile phones, I.X.E. car, as a means of transporting and concealing narcotics and the sum of 1,200 euros.

Those arrested, with the case filed against them, will be taken to the competent prosecution authority.
