The smoke traveled 300 km.
It is noted that the meteo recorded the dispersion of smoke from the large fire that started in northeastern Attica. The large spread of smoke from the ongoing forest fire is captured in the satellite image from the European meteorological satellite METEOSAT-11, processed by the Observatory. The distance the smoke has been carried southwest is estimated at more from 300 km. The satellite image also shows the spread of smoke from the forest fire on Mount Menoikion in the prefecture of Serres.
