The fire brigades are fighting the flare-ups and scattered outbreaks in northeastern Attica. According to the Fire Service, the image of the fire is better, as there is no longer a single front, while the winds are weaker compared to yesterday Monday. However, the fire has caused great damage.

– Region of Attica

– Region of Central Greece (PE Boeotia, PE Evia)

For this reason, Fire Service personnel throughout the country remain on general alert and aerial surveillance patrols will continue, as well as patrols by fire, police and military forces.

At the same time, for the above areas, the plan of Civil Protection actions to deal with risks due to forest fires remains in place, according to which, among other things, the implementation of the measure of the preventive ban on vehicle traffic and the stay of excursionists in national forests is foreseen, forests and “vulnerable” areas.

The charred body of a woman was found by firefighters inside a commercial building, in Patima Chalandriou. According to initial information, the woman he didn’t manage to get away in time from the burning business building, resulting in a gruesome death.

Her charred body was found in the bathroom of the business where she is believed to have tried to seek shelter when she realized the fire in the building was spreading.

Based on the information, it is for a 60-62 year old womana foreigner, who lived in Greece for many years and worked in the specific professional field. The fire department began searching as although she had not been officially declared missing, there was a report to the mayor that she was missing. Thus, the information was given by the municipal authority, which was initially not confirmed by the police and the fire department.

However, a newer informal update from the Ministry of Civil Protection confirmed the tragic news, as the fire brigade found the body during the autopsy they carried out in the building.
