The special platform created by the Hellenic Hotel Chamber (ΘΕΕ), to deal with crises and emergency situations, during which the possibility of temporary accommodation is immediately offered to affected citizens, worked effectively.
By Tuesday, August 13, in the morning, during the fire in Attica, 649 people of those who were forced to leave their homes or places of residence, had been safely transferred, after their application on the platform, to rooms of 39 hotels of of the capital, which were offered by professional hoteliers for their safe stay.

As can be seen from the platform’s data, the supply of accommodation and beds fully covered the evacuation needs that arose due to the emergency situation.

The close cooperation of the Ministry of Tourism with the XEE and the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection has resulted in the maximum utilization of this extremely useful tool, which gives immediate solutions to affected citizens or visitors during severe crises caused by climate change.
