Dramatic appeal for the historic building of the Monastery of Esfigmenou addressed Archimandrite Bartholomeos, abbot of the Monastery, warning that there is a risk of earthquakes.

On the occasion of the multitude of recent earthquakes on Mount Athos and related reports by the professor in the Geology Department of AUTH, Kostas Papazachou, the abbot explains that the squatters of the Esfigmenou Monastery prohibit any public authority from entering the Monastery for inspection of buildings and relics.

“Also with the occupation they obstruct any restoration works. Their justification is that, since any restoration is given financial support with “satanic money” from the EU, the veiling of Mount Athos and other phaedras will be abolished. Perhaps they would prefer the additional burden on the state budget of the country or the attraction of “blessed” money from oligarchs of “holy” Russia.”

Be that as it may, he underlines, the Monastery of Esfimenou is perhaps the only Monastery on Mount Athos that it has not been properly maintained for decades. With a strong earthquake, the entire historical building complex together with the monastery’s catholicon, which has been inaugurated by St. Gregory V. The human lives of all the participants in the occupation led by the mastermind Methodios are also at risk.

“But human lives and the maintenance of the centuries-old church and other buildings are rather unimportant for the mastermind-fraudster Methodios Papalambrakopoulos, as he has repeatedly threatened that even if the building is not in danger of an earthquake, he will blow it up himself by doing the Koogi, if the Greek state does not act according to its will”.

“A historic church building is threatenednational and world UNESCO heritage because not only of some 40 lunatics and lunatics who illegally occupy it, but also of the entire political-journalistic network of interests that supports them and mainly because of the dereliction of duty of the security authorities of the Greek state” concludes the abbot.
