Shihoma Restaurant celebrates three years with a street party that brings together bars and samba

The Shihoma restaurant, twice elected the best Italian in the city by the special The Best of São Paulo, Sheetwill transform Medeiros de Albuquerque Street, in Vila Madalena, where it is located, into an open-air party with guest bars and live samba.

Open to the public, the event celebrates the house’s three years of operation and takes place this Sunday (18), from 12 pm to 6 pm, with no entrance fee.

The bars that participate by selling their own recipes on the date include Bagaceira, Bar do Luiz Fernandes, Quito Quito Izakaya and Aconchegante. The Pinguina ice cream shop, elected one of the best in São Paulo by the special Sheetalso participates with its artisanal ice creams.

The menu includes snacks and dishes such as sun-dried beef crudo and cassava cracklings from Aconchegante, meat and codfish dumplings from Bar do Luiz Fernandes, pork loin and morcilla bolovo from Bagaceira, and gizzard salad from Quito Quito.

Shihoma prepares four-cheese lasagna, ossobuco and three-cheese pastries, and other Italian recipes. Drinks, wines and beers are among the beverage selection.

Dedicated to artisanal pasta, Shihoma is now in its third year full of new features. In March, for example, partners Márcio Shihoma, Beatriz Limoni and Joseph Lim opened the doors of Shihoma Deli, just 350 meters away.

With a more informal service, the delicatessen sells fresh pasta, artisanal breads, wines, appetizers, sauces, roasts, cheeses, and cold cuts. It is also possible to try dishes and sandwiches on site.

The restaurant has a new drinks menu, with signature drinks created by barista and mixologist Mari Mesquita. Among the suggestions is the ggold rush (R$45), made with bourbon, lemon juice and honey syrup.

Some ingredients used in the kitchen are used to make cocktails, such as the martini pomodoro (R$49), made with fermented tomato water that is the base for a starter on the menu, gin, dry vermouth and San Marzano DOP tomatoes.

To accompany, good choices from the pasta menu include the Capelacci stuffed with lamb ragu, braised in white wine and served with butter and a reduced broth (R$90), and the Spaghetti Amatriciana, which has Pecorino Romano cheese, San Marzano tomato sauce, pancetta and a mix of peppers.
