The section of the road network that connects the municipalities of Delta and Chalkidonas, between Vrachia and Adendros, in western Thessaloniki, has been handed over to traffic, after extensive asphalting works.
The technical interventions were deemed necessary, as the specific section of the provincial road presents a heavy traffic load, not only from I.X. but also from agricultural machinery and heavy vehicles moving towards rice mills and rice dryers. At the same time, an arrangement was made of the fake vegetation that had grown to such an extent that in several places it was causing problems and limiting the visibility of the drivers.
The works were inspected by the deputy governor of Thessaloniki, Kostas Ioutikas, stating that “since the spring we have been restoring without interruption a broad program of maintenance, repairs, asphalt paving and markings on the entire road network of the prefecture of Thessaloniki. Small and large projects that enhance safety on the roads and improve the daily life of citizens”.
At the beginning of the week, the main street of Komninon in Sindos was also opened to traffic. A section of the road network that was in need of reconstruction, as it serves – among others – the needs of the Industrial Area and hundreds of Logistics companies operating on the west side of Thessaloniki.
