The investigation into the case of attempted murder against a 41-year-old foreigner in the center of Thessaloniki, the police announced.

In an organized police operation that took place yesterday at noon in the center of the city, two foreigners, aged 36 and 34, were identified and arrested as perpetrators, against whom a case file was filed for, as the case may be, the offenses of attempted homicide with complicity, violation of the legislation on weapons and drugs, while the 36-year-old was additionally pending a decision for drug trafficking and illegal entry of foreigners into the country.

In a subsequent search of the house of the arrested, five improvised nylon packages were found and confiscated, containing raw cannabis, with a total weight of 133.51 grams, and a mobile phone.

The arrested allegedly attacked the 41-year-old with a knife on the night of August 28 – together with their accomplice – causing a wound to his left shoulder. The knife used in the attack and cartridges were found and confiscated at the scene. The victim was treated at a city hospital after the incident.

Those arrested with the case filed against them will be taken to the competent prosecutor.
