A priest was arrested in Thessaloniki for a domestic threat against Papadia and was referred to stand trial at the Autoforo Single-Member Criminal Court of Thessaloniki.

His arrest was caused by a complaint made by the 48-year-old elder to the police, after a previous fight at their home.

The reason for the fight, it seems, was the fact that the woman was cooking late last night, causing a commotion. “He threw the minced meat from the balcony and with a raised fist came over my head and demanded that I stop cooking,” he reportedly told the police.

She complained that she has often clashed with the priest in the last two years – and after he started working – blaming the 60-year-old that he inflicts psychological violence on her and speaks disparagingly to her, insulting her.

She also mentioned that last summer she went to the police after another fight over a trivial reason and then the priest allegedly threatened her that he would slaughter her and hang her.

However, the complainant testified that she does not want criminal prosecution against her 60-year-old husband, but only to move away from their home and to be issued a restraining order not to approach her, due to the daily tensions they experience.
