The court sentenced him to 4 years in prison without parole, and decided that his appeal would not have a suspensive effect on the execution of the sentence
A 48-year-old man was “sent” to prison by a decision of the Single-Member Criminal Court of Thessaloniki, who was found guilty of abducting a minor, as he allegedly lured into his home a 15-year-old girl who lives in a hospitality structure.
Judging the case with the spontaneous procedure, the court imposed a 4-year prison sentence without parole, while it decided that his appeal would not have a suspensive effect on the execution of the sentence.
According to the indictment, everything happened in the early hours of last Saturday, when workers in the structure first spotted the 48-year-old moving outside the accommodation area and then found that the 15-year-old was absent, so they notified the police.
“He approached the bars around the area and he is under control. Anyone who wants to leave is checked,” said the social worker of the structure, testifying in court. As she reported, the minor was found at the defendant’s house. “It wasn’t the first time, she had gone out two more times but had returned alone. There is a friendly relationship with the accused’s daughter, but not related,” the witness noted.
Apologizing, the 48-year-old claimed that he had gone to the structure that day as the minor was hanging out with his daughter of the same age and wanted to ask if she was there.
For the 15-year-old, he apologized for leaving the structure alone and staying at his house without his knowledge. “It wasn’t the first time he left. It has happened another time. They were looking for her and called me to ask. I have nothing to do with what they accuse me of,” he said.
