With Germany as the honored country, the 88th International Exhibition of Thessaloniki opened its gates today and until September 15, it is expected to be a pole of attraction for the people of Thessaloniki as well as visitors to the city.

Germany participates with 135 companies, institutions and organizations. The country’s mission exceeds 400 people and is headed by the Vice Chancellor of the German government, Dr. Robert Habeck, while the German participation is hosted – as usual – at stand 13 of the International Exhibition Center of Thessaloniki.

In stand 13, with a total area of ​​6,000 sq.m. and with the slogan “Hello Greece”, the German participation in this year’s Exhibition is the largest participation of the country in an exhibition abroad in the last 25 years. Businesses – giants in their field from Germany are “present” at the Exhibition and expect visitors to get to know them.

At the same time, the stand of Leipzig, the German city which is twinned with Thessaloniki, has a special place in the Germany stand. In fact, with the help of technology, you can experience Leipzig through VR.

The pioneering participation of the German School of Thessaloniki

The German School of Thessaloniki is also hosted in the Germany pavilion. It counts 130 years of tradition in education and this year it innovates with its participation in the 88th TIF, presenting “Anna”, the first AI-Avatar of an Educational Institution in Greece.

“Anna”, an artificial intelligence character with human features, communicates in fluent Greek conveying the spirit of the German School of Thessaloniki. Visitors to the educational institution’s stand can ask her any information they wish to know about it, and she will give them her “lights”.

As the coordinator of the higher educational level of the German School and philologist of the school, Yiannis Isaakidis, reported to thestival.gr, “Anna” is presented for the first time at this year’s exhibition.

“The goal is for Anna to be at the German School premises soon, so that she can provide information to the visitors”, he noted, saying that in the future “Anna” will definitely be bilingual, since she will be able to respond in fluent German as well!

In stand 13, in a specially designed space, a stylish restaurant with a German air and of course German delicacies has been set up, which you can enjoy together with a glass of cold beer. So Guten Appetit, Hellenistic, bon appetit!

Stand 13, where Germany’s participation is hosted, is a highly abstract, bioclimatic space dominated by wood tones and those who visit will see the impressive construction up close.

The exhibition participation of the Honored Country will be framed by a wide program of thematic days with interesting lectures, symposia and B2B meetings, where the sectors of logistics-transportation, health industry-medical technology-pharmaceuticals, renewable energy sources-environmental will be highlighted, among others technology-sustainability, education-research and digital economy-start-ups.

Educational actions, networking events and corporate presentations, as well as a cultural program with events in Thessaloniki, will frame the Honored Country’s participation in the 88th TIF.
