The consecration ceremony was performed this morning at the “Theomitor” schools, in Ilioupoli, by the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Hieronymos, on the occasion of the start of the new academic year.

After the service, the Primate of the Hellenic Church referred to the gospel passage that was read and addressed paternal wishes and admonitions to the students and parents. He also spoke about the difficulties faced by children and called on parents and teachers to be on the side of young people with affection, patience and empathy. Moreover, he advised them to seek the Wisdom of God, because there are two kinds of wisdom, human and divine. “Human wisdom comes from knowledge, experiences, letters”, however, as he emphasized, “this alone is not enough. We also need the Wisdom from above, the one who comes and enlightens man. Where these two Wisdoms meet is the best result.”

The mayor of Ilioupoli, Stathis Psyrropoulos, also addressed a greeting.

The Archbishop was accompanied by the Archdiocese’s archdiocese, archimandrite Varnavas Theoharis and archdeacon Dimitrios Fokianos.
