Athens Flying Week: The largest air show in the Eastern Mediterranean has begun

With impressive jumps by paratroopers, today, at the Tanagra air base, the 12th Athens Flying Week.

The rich program includes, among others, acrobatic swarms such as Saudi Hawks with the green ones Bae Hawk Mk.65h Patrulla Aguilathe Spanish team that will flood the sky of Tanagra with the colors of the Spanish flag, the Swiss PC-7 Team with the aircraft PC-7 and the Polish Orlik Team with a spectacular air show.

Athens Flying Week 2024 will host over 50 aircraft from abroad and – as every year – all the flying vehicles of the Armed Forces of Greece.

This year’s Athens Flying Week combines aircraft for all tastes, as, among others, fighters such as Rafale, F-16, Eurofighter, Mirage 2000-5 and F-4 Phantom.

The public will have the opportunity to admire 2 Rafale M that will perform a demonstration as well as a powerful Eurofighter Typhoon from Saudi Arabia.

In terms of private participations, the program includes Dario Costafamous Italian RedBull pilot, holder of the Guinness record, who will fly through two consecutive tunnels with the Extra 330 SChim Luca Bertossiochampion with the Glider but also him Frank Van HoutenDutch pilot who will give a great night show with fireworks.

The Armed Forces of Greece participate with Rafale, F-4 Phantom, Mirage 2000-5, T-6 and the legendary Spitfire MJ-755.

There will be a demonstration of the capabilities of the GEETHA Special Warfare Command and an eye-catching aerial battle.

Alongside the aerial spectacle, visitors will see a rich static exhibition, where for the first time, in fact, the rare Antonov-30 of the Romanian Air Force will be exhibited.

The show started today and will end tomorrow at 20:30.
