On the occasion of the revelation of two of the rings that were active in committing criminal fraud against the National Organization for the Provision of Health Services (EOPYY), through the virtual prescription of pharmaceutical preparations, the ISA announced that it will proceed with disciplinary proceedings against of its members involved in the fraud.

16 people have been arrested for the case: 4 doctors of Public Health Structures, 8 owners and employees of pharmacies, 1 medical visitor and 1 person who had the role of an intermediary.

“The Athens Medical Association, on the occasion of the revelations about the involvement of doctors in illegal prescriptions, points out that it unequivocally condemns the criminal behavior of members of the medical world that cause harm to public health and are detrimental to the health system.

The ISA is waiting for the details of the arrested doctors from the prosecutor’s office in order to proceed with the disciplinary proceedings, within the framework of its responsibilities,” the announcement states.
