The Executive Committee decided to continue the actions of the previous period throughout the country for the accuracy and the housing crisis
Punctuality, the housing crisis and the issue of Collective Labor Agreements in our country, “which create a heavy climate for the world of salaried work”, were discussed at today’s meeting of the Executive Committee of the General Confederation of Greek Workers (GSEE), according to a relevant communication.
The Executive Committee decided to continue the actions of the previous period throughout the country, emphasizing the basin of Attica and other large cities and workplaces.
The actions and the new campaign against punctuality and the housing crisis will unfold in the immediate future and will culminate in a 24-hour nationwide strike action next November.
As reported by GSEE, the exact date of the strike will be discussed at a plenary meeting of the Board of Directors, which will take the final decisions, assessing the situation experienced by private sector workers.
“The government has not given any substantial answer for the democratic restructuring of labor relations and Collective Labor Law. It has failed to control the profiteering, which fuels the accuracy and constantly degrades the purchasing power of the citizens and their standard of living. And the measures it is taking to deal with the housing crisis are emerging as the main cause of price increases in the real estate market and in rents” notes the Confederation and adds: “We demand a National General Collective Labor Agreement for the defenseless workers of the private sector and, at the same time, facilitating the conclusion and extension of sectoral and homoprofessional Collective Labor Agreements, with increases and conditions that meet the real needs of our members. We demand immediate measures against punctuality, cheap and quality housing for all.”
