A traffic accident with one woman dead and five injured, including a small child, occurred at 8 am on the provincial road Didymoteichou-Ladis, at the intersection with Poimeniko.
According to evros-news, the traffic accident happened during the pursuit of a car with Bulgarian plates, in which immigrants were riding, which started from the southern junction of Orestiada.
The smuggler, trying to escape from the border guards, followed the Leptis-Ampelakion road and from there headed towards Poimeniko at breakneck speed, according to residents of the village through which he passed. Trying to get out onto the Didymoteichou-Ladis provincial road, he went straight into the fields and overturned.
With a tragic account the death of a woman and the injury of the other five passengers, including a child.
4 EKAV ambulances, two fire engines and police patrol cars arrived at the scene.
According to information, the trafficker is a foreigner, from Kosovo.
