At the Aglaia Kyriakou Children’s Hospital, the 15-year-old who earlier today was carried away by a tram train in Nea Smyrni, while riding an electric skate, is being treated out of danger.

The accident occurred at the junction of Eleftheriou Venizelou and Paradisos streets, on the border with P. Faliro shortly after 1:00 p.m.

According to information, the boy suffered traumatic head injuries. At the hospital, he underwent laboratory and imaging tests and his condition is generally considered good, however, there is a possibility that he will remain hospitalized for preventive reasons.

According to STASY, the accident occurred when the 15-year-old attempted to cross the tram track at a pedestrian crossing, near N. Smyrni.

The minor collided head-on with a tram vehicle, resulting in his injury.

EKAV was called to the scene, which took over the transport of the injured to the hospital.

The incident is being investigated by the relevant Traffic Department.

There are temporary delays in train traffic on Line 6 of the Syntagma – Picrodafni tram.
