Tension was noted earlier in the Averof building of the National Technical University of Athens in the center of Athens, during an event.

According to the announcement of ELAS, shortly after the start of the event, people entered the building and attacked and threw objects at the guests, as a result of which the rector’s authorities informed the police in order to intervene.

Immediately, Greek Police forces entered the venue and safely removed the guests, while 22 arrests have been made so far.

“In the afternoon hours today, Friday September 27, 2024, the planned event “Researcher’s Night” would take place in the Averof building of the National Technical University in the center of Athens, with honored guests and free entry for teaching staff and students.

The Greek Police, in order to ensure the event in question, took the necessary order and security measures, outside and around the building.

Shortly after the start of the event, people entered the building and verbally assaulted and threw objects at the guests, as a result of which the Rectory Authorities informed the Greek Police in order to intervene.

Immediately Greek Police forces entered the venue and safely removed the guests, while 22 arrests have been made so far.

A preliminary investigation is carried out by the State Security sub-directorate of the Attica Security Directorate».
