After 16 years of presence in the center of Athens, Dorothy Snot, the leading Greek school for young children (1-6 years old), came to the Southern Suburbs, specifically to Nea Smyrni.
The arrival of Dorothy Snot in New Smyrna was celebrated on the evening of Wednesday, September 25, with an impressive and joyful opening ceremony, attended by dozens of people, parents and school children, as well as representatives of the political, business and intellectual world.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the School’s co-founder and CEO Yannis Giannoudis, emphasized that the decision to expand the school in Nea Smyrni was of strategic importance, noting that “we came to stay” in beautiful Nea Smyrni and for the school to become another landmark of the area . Mr. Giannoudis explained that they managed to prevent the imminent demolition of the old private high school “Palladio” and committed the building for the next 18 years.
The Deputy Minister of Immigration and Asylum Sofia Voultepsi, the Southern Sector MP of PASOK Pavlos Christidis, the PASOK MP and Head of Education Stefanos Parastatides, the Deputy Mayor of Education of the Municipality of Nea Smyrni Georgios Gournaropoulos, the Deputy Mayor of Maintenance and School Operations were present at the event. Units of the Municipality of Nea Smyrni Marina Dekoulou, Erietta Kourkoulou – Latsi, Giorgos Sallas and the writer Christos Homenidis.
The Swedish educator from Stockholm University Suzanne Axelsson and the British playworker with over 46 years of experience Meynell Walter sent their own message via video, who emphasized how important it is to connect the school with the international education community through game.
