The adventure of a pilot had a happy ending this afternoon (04.10), when he was forced to land the firefighting aircraft he was on, next to the lake of Marathon.

The Air Tractor firefighting aircraft landed next to Lake Marathon when the pilot realized there was a problem with one of the wheels. According to information, the left front wheel could not be lowered resulting in forced hydration in the marathon lake.

An Australian pilot was on board the aircraft and according to the first information he is in good health. The operator decided to go to sea in the lake and not in the sea because it has no waves.

The fire department was notified of the incident at around 12.35 in the afternoon and 12 firefighters rushed to the spot with 4 vehicles.

According to information, the aircraft took off from Rhodes and was heading for a landing in Eleftherios Venizelos. His contract is up, he would go to clear customs and then go back to Australia where he comes from.
