Renault will present its electric showroom concept, the Twingo E-Tech, on its stand at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, which runs from 14 to 20 October. This particular car was revealed in November 2023, while it will be presented to the public for the first time.

Renault revolutionized the automotive world when it introduced the Twingo in 1992: with its vibrant colors and the gift of making everyday life more enjoyable, it was the perfect example of what Renault means by “cars for living” (” les voitures à vivre”).

The original Twingo E-Tech electric is innovative, intelligent, fit for the modern era and just as innovative as the original model, which stood out thanks to its minimalistic silhouette, its playful light shape, its unique flexibility, but also the cheerful vibes he was giving off.

The small size of the Twingo E-Tech electric prototype ensures its flexibility in urban commuting, while its five doors make it extremely practical. Its one-volume body includes a fixed glass roof that floods the spacious interior with natural light.

A series of details inspired by the original Twingo enhance the character of this prototype and emphasize its modern proportions and fluid surfaces.

Upgrades throughout the body, and original details, including the light fixtures (now consisting of LED rings) emerge a stylish and impressive appearance.

Characteristic illuminated signature on the back

The design of the rear is aesthetically reminiscent of the iconic tail of the first Twingo, while the black rim around the rear window adds a modern touch. The protruding rear lights, which have the same curved shape as the front ones, give the car a high-tech feel. The Twingo letters in the center of the rear door help to create a pleasant and playful image.

Expressive and attractive features

The original Twingo E-Tech electric is an unforgettable “face”. Its expressive and impressive front appearance is mainly due to the lighting bodies and the lines of the front part, with the emblem of the brand. Something about it instantly evokes a sense of familiarity.

Rounded and “loveable”

The front lights, which are directly inspired by the first generation model, are another aspect of the charming character of the Twingo E-Tech electric prototype. They protrude from the body and give it a high-tech feel.

Glass sunroof that fills the interior with natural light

The Twingo E-Tech electric prototype features a huge glass roof that floods the passenger cabin with natural light and offers unrestricted views of the outside environment.

Iconic round handles in a modern version

The memorable handles on the two front doors are straight from the 1992 model – now featuring a round illuminated surround.

Obvious details

The three small openings in the hood aren’t there for engine ventilation (as an electric city car you don’t need it), but they’re a tribute to the car’s heritage.

The Twingo E-Tech electric concept is the next chapter in a story that began more than 30 years ago, foreshadowing the production of the fourth generation Twingo, which will be available in 2026. It was developed by Ampere with the aim of offering a starting price under €20,000, fulfilling Renault’s commitment to make electric mobility available to more and more consumers.
