The case of the explosives that were found in the possession of a marked criminal at noon in the center of Athens is still shrouded in mystery. And that’s because the 38-year-old thug, who according to police sources had convicted of a drug case and released from prison in 2015; he reveals nothing to the officers despite their persistent questions.
According to the same sources, the tangle of developments began to unravel after a random police check on Sokratous Street. The police noticed the pistol, Tokarev, that he had in the car, while their attention also fell on the explosives that he had carefully hidden.
Now the questions that the experienced security officers are asked to answer are where the 38-year-old obtained the explosives, where he transported them, and of course where they were intended. In fact, they do not rule out that other people involved in the affairs of the night are also involved in this case.
Tokarev has been sent to ELAS forensic laboratories where it is “leaf and feathered” in order to determine whether it is “clean”, or has been used in other cases in the past.
Finally, the role of the 32-year-old woman who was in the car is also being investigated.
