The 68-year-old man, at least from February 2024 to the month of June, committed lewd acts against his underage granddaughter
Another horrific case of child sexual abuse is coming to light, this time in Thessaloniki.
A 68-year-old man is accused of sexually abusing his 4-year-old granddaughter – and in fact continuously – during the hours he was responsible for guarding the little girl.
The case was investigated following a complaint made by the parents of the minor to the Sub-Directorate for the Protection of Minors of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate.
The police investigation revealed that the defendant, at least from February 2024 to the month of June, committed lewd acts against his minor granddaughter, whose custody her parents had entrusted to him, during their absence.
As part of a search of the 68-year-old’s home, which was carried out in the presence of a judicial officer, a mobile phone and a laptop computer were found and confiscated.
The 68-year-old was arrested and charged with the offenses of sexual acts with minors or in front of them, abuse of minors and sexual act between relatives in succession.
As foreseen in these cases, the minor was examined by a specialist child psychologist.
The case file will be submitted to the competent prosecutor.
