The Directorate for the Prosecution of Electronic Crime proceeded with the formation of a regular procedure file against a 27-year-old accused of incitement to commit crimes, violence or discord, via the Internet.

In particular, according to a complaint, the 27-year-old made a public post on the business profile of the independent MP Mario Salma, with content that provoked and incited the commission of crimes against him, as well as political figures in general.

As announced by ELAS, an urgent investigation followed in the context of which the electronic traces of the user who made the disputed post were identified, while the material gathered was brought to the attention of the Athens Prosecutor’s Office.

From the subsequent police and digital-internet investigation and the police preliminary investigation, it emerged the involvement of the 27-year-old in the management of the disputed account, through the electronic traces that corresponded to internet connections of his home and work.

This morning, a search was carried out at the 27-year-old’s house, where his involvement in the case was identified and pre-investigative, while 2 mobile phone devices were found and confiscated.

The seized digital evidence will be sent to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for further laboratory examination.

The case file formed will be submitted to the competent prosecuting authority.
