On which roads of Attica is the traffic of heavy vehicles prohibited due to the bad weather “Filippos”

The complete cessation, from 22:00, of the traffic of heavy vehicles on Attiki Odos, the Western Peripheral of Ymittos Avenue, the Peripheral Egaleo and in parts of Athens-Lamia was decided by the Attica Traffic Directorate in a meeting held today at the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, in view of the occurrence of adverse weather phenomena.

In particular, as the Attica General Police Directorate emphasizes in its announcement, it was decided to completely stop the traffic of all types of heavy vehicles with a maximum permissible weight over 3.5 tons, for special safety reasons in order to avoid causing traffic problems, from 22.00 today ( 9/3), until the recession of the phenomena in both traffic streams of the New National Road Athens-Lamia, in its section from the height of the uneven junction Kalyftakis (c / o 20,060) to the c / o 58,520 (limits of Attica ).

It was also decided the complete cessation of traffic of all types of heavy vehicles with a maximum permissible weight of more than 3.5 tons, as well as articulated buses, for special safety reasons in order to avoid causing traffic problems, from 22.00, today (9/3), until recession of the phenomena in both traffic streams along the road network of Attiki Odos, the Western Peripheral Avenue of Ymittos and the Peripheral Egaleo.

The following vehicles are excluded from the above prohibitions:

– Roadside assistance vehicles

-Trucks carrying salt

-Emergency vehicles

At the same time, it is pointed out that the specific traffic regulations can be extended or reduced, if the traffic conditions so require.

Finally, GADA in its announcement, urges drivers to comply with the instructions of traffic controllers and to be equipped with anti-skid chains, for use if required by the prevailing conditions.
