The closure of the night club on Vouliagmenis avenue, which served alcohol to students, will be proposed by the mayor of Athens Harry Doukas at Wednesday’s City Council, as he said in his statement.

Mr. Doukas pointed out that “we will deal hard with any illegality in Athens. Whoever it concerns, whoever is involved.”

“Tomorrow to the Municipal Council I propose the closing of this particular bar in Vouliagmenis” he added.

Discharge for the 15-year-old minor

The last minor who had remained hospitalized, a 15-year-old girl, was discharged after drinking alcohol in a well-known club in Athens, while the authorities’ investigation into the circumstances that led a total of 8 students to the hospital continues. The 15-year-old girl was released today and is in good health.

It is recalled that eight minors, who felt unwell after drinking, were transferred to a hospital in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The children, aged 14 to 17, school students from the northern suburbs of Attica, participated in a planned school prom at a club on Vouliagmenis Avenue.

The results of the laboratory tests on the quality of the alcohol that was served at the specific store are now awaited.

The 20-year-old, who was arrested in connection with the carjacking, was released and a regular trial has been set. It is worth noting that a case file has been filed by the police, including the names of the owners of the specific store.

The club in question has been targeted several times by the authorities and violations have been confirmed, including for adulterated drinks which were detected after an investigation by the financial police.
