American citizens living, working or studying in Thessaloniki and Northern Greece exercised their right to vote
The ballot box at the US consulate was set up at the beginning of October and the first to exercise his right to vote, for the presidential elections, was the Consul General, Mr. Jerry Ismail who welcomed his compatriots as well as several students who rushed to vote.
American citizens who live, work or study in Thessaloniki and Northern Greece also participated in the electoral process, and in fact many of them exercised their right to vote by casting their vote in the ballot box set up inside the US Consulate General in Thessaloniki.
According to sources of the US Consulate General in Thessaloniki with whom thestival.gr spoke, the Americans who voted in the Consulate’s ballot box had received the electoral materials according to the State in which they are registered, while others exercised their electoral right electronically.
“The process went smoothly – as always – in Thessaloniki. The Americans who are in Northern Greece were able to vote and the ballots have been sent to America,” said the sources of the US Consulate General.
