A case of fraud was solved in Chania and a case file was filed against two people as defendants for the crime of fraud.

The investigation was carried out today by officers of the Kissamos Police Department and was about fraud against a citizen.

Specifically, on November 3, unknown persons contacted the citizen, after a telephone call and under the pretext of selling a vehicle, they convinced him to pay various sums of money as an advance payment.

From the investigation and preliminary investigation of the Kissamos Police Department, the details of the two nationals (man and woman) were identified, who were located by police officers of the Dafni Security Department, in the area after being informed by the Kissamos Police Department.

The preliminary investigation is carried out by the Kissamos Police Department in Chania.

The General Regional Police Directorate of Crete, on the occasion of the above incident and with the aim of avoiding deception of the citizens by astute persons, advises the citizens to be especially careful with advertisements for buying and selling on the internet or with phone calls from people who falsely introduce themselves as accountants, under the pretext of payment allowances and request the payment of sums of money or the provision of account details or codes, in order to carry out transactions.
