The firefighters extinguished the flames and even spoke to the students to inform them of the dangers of their actions.
The situation at the 1st EPAL of Lamia started to get out of hand from yesterday Wednesday when a group of students set fire to the school yard.
The small fires were immediately extinguished by the teachers.
However, the students also set fire to the courtyard at the back of the school today and the teachers called the Fire Service.
The firefighters extinguished the flames and even spoke to the students to inform them of the dangers of their actions.
However, according to the Star of Central Greece, the situation got out of hand when there was tension between a group of students and teachers.
The students threw pots, the battery collection container, threw water and bottles on the floor, while constantly shouting.
A little while later, however, calm returned to the school.
According to the report, the tension was caused by students protesting as the school management has taken measures against smoking and the use of mobile phones.
In fact, in the previous days, expulsions were also imposed on students for inappropriate behavior.
The Directorate of Secondary Education of Fthiotida was also informed about the incident and developments are expected in the coming days.
