In the arrest of a 41-year-old man, who, according to a relevant announcement, is involved in 4 armed robberieswhich took place in May in the wider area of ​​Thessaloniki, police officers of the Sub-Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of Northern Greece proceeded.

As his accomplice, on 3 of the robberies, a 42-year-old man was also identifiedwho is temporarily detained in a Detention Center for a similar case. A case file was filed against them for – as the case may be – criminal organization, robbery with complicity, as well as violation of weapons and drug laws.

In particular, from the preliminary investigation carried out, the criminal activity of the two defendants, with the aim of obtaining an illegal financial benefit, as well as their joint participation in three robberies in areas of Thessaloniki, was determined, as follows:

  • on 18-05-2024, in a convenience store – cafe, where, with the threat of a knife, they took the amount of 800 euros
  • on 15-05-2024, in a convenience store, where with the threat of a knife, they removed the amount of 450 euros as well as packs of cigarettes worth 40 euros and
  • on 09-05-2024, in a convenience store, where the amount of -1,200- euros was taken away with the threat of a sharp object.

At the same time, it emerged that the 41-year-old was involved in an armed robbery case at a gas station on 05-28-2024 in the same area, where, with the threat of a pistol, he removed the amount of 1,195 euros and ran away.

From the investigation carried out, a firearm, 4 cartridges, a folding knife were found and confiscated in the 41-year-old’s home.
