The three men, aged 71, 57 and 48, were arrested while carrying out an illegal excavation at the behest of a 74-year-old man
Four citizens aged 74, 71, 57 and 48 years old were arrested by police officers of the Department of Prevention and Suppression of Crime of the Directorate of Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes of Thessaloniki, against whom a case file was filed by the Security Department of Oreokastro for violation of the Antiquities Legislation.
Specifically, at noon on Saturday at Old National Road Thessaloniki – Kilkisthree of the above were caught illegally excavating with deep cuts, using various tools with water pipes, at the behest of the 74-year-old inside his business premises.
They seized I.X. Truck, two pipes leading from a water tank tank to a water pump, a pipe leading to a makeshift structure consisting of a reducer, two motors, two power panels with about 80 meters of cable, two drill stems and a host of other pipes.
Those arrested, with the case filed against them, will be taken to the competent judicial authorities.
