An ongoing gathering outside the CoE as today the plenary session of the Council of State is hearing the application for annulment made by ten Associations of faculty members, EDIP, Administrative Staff and Students, but also individuals belonging to the University Community for the Proclamation30 Special Guards intended to staff the University Institutions Protection Teams (University Police).

The applicants, objecting to the constitutionality of the establishment and operation of this Body itself, consider that the formation and operation of this Body in the conditions provided by its founding law, violates the self-government of the Universities (article 16 par. 5 S), but also a number of other fundamental rights and freedoms enshrined in the Constitution.

The applicant Associations are:

1.Association of Teaching Staff NTUA

2. Association of Scientific Teaching Staff of Panteion University

3 Association of Teaching and Research Staff of the University of Patras

4. Unified Association of Teachers of the University of Thessaly

5.Association of Teaching and Research Staff of the University of Ioannina

6. Association of Teaching and Research Personnel of the University of the Aegean

7. Unified Association of Teaching and Research Personnel of PADA,

8. Association of Special and Laboratory Teaching Staff NTUA

9. Association of Administrative Staff NTUA

10. Panteion University Students Association
