STASY In the last period of time, according to the data from the toll validations, the STASY proceeded in redesigning the routes on Lines 2 and 3 of the Metro.
According to a statement by STASY, the peak passenger time zones were shifted during the weekday morning hours in an attempt to decongest the Lines and achieve a frequency of 4.5′ on Line 2 and 4′ on Line 3 and in the afternoon hours until 10 at night with staggered time distances.
For the weekend, the time slots were reduced in stages from 5 pm to 10 pm.
At the same time, Metro Line 3, the longest in terms of length and number of stations, was reinforced with an additional train during the morning peak hours, when the most increased passenger traffic occurs.
As part of the rescheduling of routes, the extension of the operating hours of Lines 2 and 3 of the Metro every Friday and Saturday, with the last routes departing from Syntagma station at 2 in the morning, will be implemented from November 1.
The response of the passenger public has been positive and is reflected in the data available from fare validations.
According to them, between 00:00 – 02:00 26,183 boardings were recorded in the two days 01-02/11 and 30,504 boardings from 08-09/11, with the increase in passenger traffic being 27% compared to the passenger traffic before from the extended hours application.
