Bad weather Filippos: Traffic ban for trucks in Athens- Lamia, Attiki Odos, Ymitto, Egaleo- Which roads are closed

In the context of a meeting held yesterday (11/03/2022) at the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection and in view of the occurrence of adverse weather phenomena from the bad weather “Filippos”by decision of the Attica Traffic Directorate, the following temporary traffic regulations will be applied:

A. Complete cessation of traffic of all types of heavy vehicles with a maximum permissible weight of more than 3.5 tons, for special safety reasons in order to avoid causing traffic problems, from 06.00 on 12/3/2022 until the effects of the phenomena in both traffic streams of N.E.O. Athens-Lamia, in its section from the height of A / K Kalyftakis (c / o 20,060) to c / o 58,520 (borders of Attica).

B. Complete cessation of traffic of any kind of heavy vehicle with a maximum permissible weight of more than 3.5 tons, as well as articulated buses, for special safety reasons in order to avoid causing traffic problems, from 06.00 on 12/3/2022 until the effects subside in both traffic streams along the road network of Attiki Odos, D.P.L. Ymittos and the Regional Egaleo.

The following vehicles are excluded from the above prohibitions:

Ο Roadside assistance vehicles
Γά Trucks carrying salt
. Emergency vehicles

According to information from the General Police Directorate of Attica, the above traffic regulations may be extended or reduced beyond the specified hours, if traffic conditions require it.

According to the announcement: “Drivers are kindly requested to comply with the instructions of the traffic controllers and to be equipped with anti-skid chains, for use if required by the prevailing conditions”.
