The journey from one end of the line to the other will take 17 minutes
The first day will be free for passengers, the Thessaloniki metro, whose operation is expected on November 30.
“It will be free at least for the first day of its operation, we will see with the prime minister exactly for how long its use will be free”, said the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Christos Staikouras, speaking to ANT1.
The minister also said that the price of the ticket has been set at 0.60 cents with the duration being 70 minutes.
It is noted that the journey from one end of the line to the other will take 17 minutes.
Mr. Staikouras noted that the Thessaloniki Metro can serve 254,000 passengers daily.
Regarding safety, he pointed out that “the systems that exist in the Thessaloniki Metro reduce the number of accidents, as the tunnel is isolated from the platform in case of emergency, while there are doors that open only when the Metro train arrives.
The Minister of Infrastructure and Transport also said that checks are being carried out and will continue to be carried out until it starts operating, stating that all stations will be given to the public.
