Antonis Lymberis – a self-made post-colonial publisher – started from scratch and in 30 short years built an empire in the field of periodical press
Antonis Lymberis, a well-known publisher and former owner of radio stations, passed away today at the age of 71.
In his post, Lakis Gavalas described the late publisher as a “creative visionary and tasteful bon viveur, a man who always sought quality.
Antonis Lymberis- self-made publisher of postcolonialism – started from scratch 1981 and in 30 short years he built an empire in the field of the magazine press, with publications that wrote history in the golden age of their circulation, such as Status, Life & Style, Ego, 7Μερες TV, Hello!, Athenorama and others a lot.
From a small office in Victoria Square, Antonis Lymberis managed a publishing giant in Koropi, in offices reminiscent of a multinational advertising company in New York.
With his wife, Elena, in the 90s and early 2000s, they lived it glamorous lifestyle who “sold” through their magazines, with trips, galas and receptions – rumor has it that their guests in Koropi and in the villas of Kifisia and Mykonos were greeted by a butler, according to British standards.
In 2012 the “empire” collapsed
In November 2012, the end credits dropped for the “Lymberi Publications“, due to the company’s heavy borrowing in combination with the dramatic reduction in advertising and sales experienced by the periodical press in the country as a whole.
