A foreigner, who was in possession of a large quantity of narcotics, was arrested yesterday afternoon at the “Eleftherios Venizelos” airport in Athens.

According to ELAS, this is a member of a transnational criminal group, which is active in importing processed cannabis (chocolate) and “ECSTASY” tablets into our country, through the airport “El. Venizelos” of Athens, with the aim of their further movement.

His arrest took place in the context of targeted actions of the Narcotics Prosecution Sub-Directorate, while after analyzing data and creating a “profile” of individuals (profiling), it was possible to locate the accused in the arrivals area of ​​the airport, coming from a foreign country.

In particular, he was caught in possession of processed cannabis (chocolate) with a total gross weight of 7 kilograms and 840 grams, as well as approximately 4,770 “ECSTASY” tablets, which were carefully concealed in various items of clothing and footwear within luggage. In addition, a mobile phone was also seized.

The arrested person was taken to the competent prosecuting authority.
