The lawsuit is against the driver, the car owner and the insurance company that insured the vehicle – A decision is expected in the coming months
The single-member Court of First Instance of Thessaloniki discussed the compensation lawsuit filed by the family of 21-year-old Emma, who lost her life when she was dragged and left covered in blood on the road by a 28-year-old driver, in November 2022, in Kamara.
The lawsuit is against the driver, the owner of the car and the insurance company that insured the vehicle, the family’s lawyer said, and a decision is expected in the coming months.
The mother of the unfortunate student appeared in the process, who stated in her statements that “all they are interested in is saving their lives”. Commenting on the “apology” asked by the 28-year-old driver, during his plea in the criminal court (he was sentenced to 16.5 years in prison and remains incarcerated), she pointed out: “He apologized, but said that it was not his fault, that the child was thrown , that she wasn’t running, that Emmanuela was crossing the street with her cell phone in her hand and that it was the child’s fault. So such an apology is not an apology.”
