The 109 arrested from yesterday’s incidents were referred by the prosecutor to the Autonomous Single-Member Criminal Court of Thessaloniki, after the commemoration march for the 16 years since the murder of Alexandros Grigoropoulos. They were charged with domestic disturbance and disorderly conduct (for refusing to be fingerprinted), adjourned and released. For the rest of the crimes reported by the Police, a separate investigation is being conducted against unknown persons.

At noon, 109 people out of the 112 arrested in total were brought before the prosecutor, as three are minors, who had been released by the prosecutor’s verbal order and had been picked up by their parents.

In the meantime, an objection prevailed at noon outside the Thessaloniki Courthouse and while the transfer of the arrested was expected from gathered sympathizers. It was preceded by a call from people in the wider anti-authoritarian space for a gathering of solidarity and support outside the Courts. The protesters threw objects at the police forces who had lined up at the scene. The police pushed them towards Vardario Square, using chemicals and stun grenades.
