Play on Early Education: How play creates independent and responsible children

by

Relentless, freely chosen, based on the experiences and interests of the children themselves and with the ability to adapt to a world that is constantly changing. This is the game that contributes from an early age to the creation of independent and autonomous children with confidence, critical thinking and responsibility.

Heretical views in a society that has learned that education must be memorization, obedience and endless hours of boredom at the desks? Maybe. Fortunately, over the years, this mentality has changed and more and more parents and teachers are discovering the most liberal models of education, which focus on the child and his needs and not the teaching from the chair.

Enhancing and disseminating this message is the goal of the Second International Conference “Play on Early Education”which will take place on April 27-30, in Athens at the Serafio Center for Sports, Culture & Innovation, which will be broadcast online for those who can not attend.

Scientists and delegates from all over the world will once again bring Athens to the forefront of modern pedagogical science, exploring for four days the role and form of play in the new world that emerged after 2020 and that radically changes education.

The keynote speakers have already been announced.

This is the well-known Swedish educator Suzanne Axelssonτον «Teacher Tom(Aka Tom Hobson) from Seattle who is considered one of the best preschool teachers in the world, the British playworker with 46 years of experience Meynell Walterthe director in the sleep laboratory of Stockholm University John Axelssonthe co-founders of the Women on top support network Stella Kasdagli and Penelope Theodorakakou (because the conquest of gender equality begins in preschool) and the teacher who managed to turn a public school in a mountain village of Crete into an educational model of creative self-management Angelo Patsia.
