An announcement about the incident that occurred yesterday at a well-known amusement park in Attica as the power supply was interrupted, as a result of which children were trapped in the air for at least 15-20 minutes, the company issued.

As the amusement park emphasizes, “shortly before the end of its operation, on Saturday, December 14, at 9:40 p.m., there was a power outage in the area, by DEDDIE. Following the safety protocol, the generators were activated and at the same time, the process of safely moving all the people who were in the games and machines.”

In the announcement it is noted that “as defined by the security protocol, the movement is carried out gradually, so as to avoid the possibility of overcrowding and for this reason there was a short stay of people, in certain games, until their movement in complete safety. Note that the safe movement of all attendees took place before the power outage was restored. This incident, which stemmed from an emergency power outage in the area and for which amusement park staff are fully trained and operated strictly according to safety protocol, was presented as a ‘malfunction’ and a ‘safety hazard’. In reality the breakdown was a brief power outage, the lack of generators was completely false, especially given that the amusement park has generators for its full operation in such cases and the ‘caging’ of people was a perfectly correct observance of the safety rules.

The amusement park emphasizes that: “Every year we welcome tens of thousands of people from Greece and abroad, offering them moments of fun in absolute safety. We are a place that is constantly controlled by the authorities, with recent controls and certifications from all agencies, including the Fire Department and the independent control and certification body.

It is unfortunate to say the least, especially a few days before Christmas, that completely false incidents are carried and shown, which result in the creation of a climate of panic and fear, which is the real danger, not the observance of safety rules.”
