Inconvenience for hundreds of drivers who were stranded on a road in Arachova as they did not have anti-skid chains while electric vehicles were immobilized
Queues of kilometers and inconvenience for hundreds of visitors to the magical Arachova were noted a little while ago, by vehicles that got stuck in the snow while moving without anti-skid chains.

The traffic of vehicles from Livadi to Hionodromiko has been temporarily stopped to prevent more cars from getting stuck, while snow plows are already working at the spot to remove the immobilized cars.
On the part of the Regional Unit of Viotia, and specifically the vice-regional governor of Viotia, Giorgos Dassiotis, an appeal is addressed to the drivers visiting Arachova, but also to the mountainous destinations in general, to be equipped with anti-slip chains and to move with them even if they estimate that there is little snow.

In relation to electronic publications, which refer to the immobilization of vehicles and difficulty in traffic, due to adverse weather phenomena near the settlement of Arachova Boiotia, as well as related issues of traffic controls, the Headquarters of the Hellenic Police announces the following:
In the settlement of Arachova, continuous traffic checks are carried out by police officers in order to verify that vehicles are equipped with anti-skid chains, as well as in the conduct of traffic using them where deemed necessary, while due to the low temperatures prevailing in the area it was observed that many electric vehicles presented technical problems resulting in their immobilization when returning from the ski center of the area.
It is recalled that from 12-24-2024 G.E.D. of Central Greece regarding the state of the road network in the area, the obligation to provide the drivers of all vehicles with anti-skid chains or other similar anti-skid means, as long as these vehicles do not have special tires, as well as their obligation to carry this equipment in accordance with the instructions of the police authorities in order to ensure the smooth conduct of vehicle traffic.
